This was actually an unplanned stop. I found it when I was in the hotel in Sioux Falls preparing for day two of my trip. I was looking at my gas stops and my other planned stops when this pooped up on the map. I figured since it was five minutes from one of my other stops, I would check it out. I was glad I did, this was a Native American boarding school and museum. I learned so much about the history of the tribes in South Dakota and how they lived on a daily basis. I highly recommend stopping and gaining some insight on how the tribes lived and the hardships they faced.
This stop is what put me by the school and museum. It is a beautiful looking over the Missouri River. The sun sparkled off the colored diamonds in her quilt. It was built to represent the Lakota and Dakota Native American culture. It is a very beautiful and powerful piece. I enjoyed sitting there, in peace with it and the nature around it. A few hundred feet away was a rest area with information about the Lewis and Clark expedition. There was also a path headed towards the river with a sign warning about poisonous snakes. I took the risk to get a picture of the longest bridge in South Dakota.
